Star B Wagyu began right here in Des Moines, Iowa, where our family has raised cattle for years. What started as a cow-calf operation is still at the heart of what we do today. Working with cattle has always been a part of our family, and we wanted to build on that foundation while creating something new.

Alongside our cow-calf herd, we began building our Wagyu herd with a purebred Akaushi bull from Japan. We were drawn to the breed for its unique genetics and the exceptional quality of beef it can produce. Starting our Wagyu herd gave us the opportunity to combine what we already knew and loved about raising cattle with something new for our family to grow into.

As our Wagyu herd continued to grow, we wanted to find the right partner to help us take our beef from the ranch to the table. We are proud to partner with Booth Creek Wagyu in Kansas, who helps us feed out our cattle and handle the processing and packaging of our beef. Their experience and care throughout that process allows us to bring our customers the same quality and attention to detail that we put into raising our cattle.

Star B Wagyu is a family operation, and every step of building the herd has been a hands-on effort. From raising our cattle to developing our herd and bringing our beef to the table, we take pride in knowing where our beef comes from and in the work that goes into every cut.
